Yueyue Gu, conductor and pianist, is currently studying at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin under Prof.Markus Stenz, also studies piano with Ton Nu Nguyet Minh and opera coaching with Anastasia Timofeeva.

As conductor, Yueyue has collaborated with Orchestra including the Komische Oper Berlin Symphony Orchestra, Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Symphony Orchestra, Shanghai Conservatory of Music Chamber Orchestra, Karlovy Vary Symphony Orchestra, Jiangsu Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra della Alpi, Filarmonica Ettore Pozzoli. In 2023, he made his conducting debut with the Jiangsu Symphony Orchestra in the season concert “Joy of Growth”, where he also appeared simultaneously as pianist and narrator. In the same month, he conducted the concert for the 1st Sino-British Youth Composition Competition at Chetham’s School of Music and the Concert featuring new works from the Composition Department at CCOM. He also led chamber orchestra performances of Mozart and Chopin piano concertos at the school. In 2025, he conducted Johann Strauss’ operetta Die Fledermaus at Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler, and served as assistant conductor to his professor Markus Stenz for Wagner‘s opera Götterdämmerung with Hangzhou Philharmonic orchestra.

As an active chamber pianist, Yueyue performed in the 2023 national tour "Gui Qu Lai Xi" with Guzheng player Sha Yuan. Serving as an opera repetiteur, he assisted in rehearsing Mozart's Idomeneo and Wagner's Siegfried, and Huihui Cheng's opera Desert of Water at the Deutsche Oper Berlin for new opera project "Neue Szene VII." In 2025, he was selected for Das Kritische Orchester by Germany's Forum Dirigieren. He has also gained inspiration through masterclasses with Maria João Pires, Prof.Gerlinde Otto, Prof.Peter Waas, and Lü Jia.

Born in 2006 into a musical family in Heilongjiang China, his mother is a composer, father a trumpet player and chorus conductor, Yueyue began piano lessons at age 3. He studied piano with Prof.Ying Zhou from 2017. Admitted to the Comprehensive Music Theory at the Affiliated Middle School of the Central Conservatory of Music in 2018, he embarked on his conducting journey under Prof.Bing Chen while studying composition and musicology. In 2021, he entered the conducting major, continuing studies with Prof.Man Zhu and receiving long-term guidance from Prof.Christian Ehwald.
